We're happy to present to you the latest single from Luke Pompey, resident at Leeds' infamous 'Filth' club night. Luke's recent output includes the massive unofficial remix of Dennis Ferrer's 'Hey Hey' which gained plays on Pete Tong's essential selection and currently has nearly 205,000 views on Youtube. Luke also produced the Nightmares On Wax'/Pretty Lights sampling 'Sometimes' which gained support from a whole range of DJs over the summer. It's that good we've included it as a bonus promo track in this mail out. Luke's release on DRR takes a classic acidic direction with its 909 drums and 303 arpeggios which interweave with that BIG bass line. Freaky string lines and dirty FX complete Luke's modern take on a classic style. First up on remix duties is DRR's Olivaffair (Leigh Oliver) who mangles the original elements of the track and then adds bass, stabs and beats before dropping a downright naughty sax solo after the break. The second remix comes from Croatia's Darko Kustura who stays faithful to the original bass line and acid vibe but adds frantic 909 hats and snares, chopped vocals and some nasty old school stabs - it's a belter. The Dark Side Of The Compilation will be out exclusively to Juno on Wednesday October 5th and at a later date for other stores. We've had some great DJ feedback for our first EP by Olivaffair with support from Giom, X-press2, Moodymanc, Manuel Sahagun, Mike Monday, DJ Soydan, Tyler Stadius and Joan Ribas. We will have a set release date in the next couple of weeks,we'll keep you posted.
